Privacy policy

Summary

ProjectCostPro is a free static website. We don’t require accounts, don’t collect payment information, and don’t run contractor lead forms, and don’t sell or broker quote requests. The information your browser sends to load any web page (browser, IP, page visited) may be logged by our hosting provider or by analytics tooling if we add it.

What we may collect

• Standard server logs — IP address, browser/device user-agent, pages visited, timestamps, and referrer. Logged by our hosting provider for security and uptime monitoring.
• Analytics — the site runs two analytics tools: Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-CLNSY15DQP) and Ahrefs Web Analytics. Between them they record page views, referrer, approximate region derived from IP, and basic device and browser information. We also send a small set of no-personal-data interaction events (for example: a calculator was recalculated, a preset was chosen, an estimate was copied). Those events are filtered before sending — any value containing an email address, a dollar amount, or a run of four or more digits is dropped, so the ZIP codes and project figures you type are never transmitted. We do not run advertising or retargeting networks.
• ZIP code you type into a calculator — used in your browser to look up regional pricing. Not transmitted to us or stored anywhere unless you explicitly submit a feedback form.
• Real-cost feedback (optional) — if you use the “did you get a real number?” form on a calculator, we store only which calculator it was, the first three digits of the ZIP you enter (regional granularity, not your full ZIP), the estimate band shown, the actual amount you paid, and any short note you add. It is anonymous and aggregate: no email, no account, no name, and we never publish an individual entry or connect it to you.

What we don’t collect

• No accounts, no passwords, no payment information
• No contractor lead capture
• No third-party advertising trackers
• No precise location (we don’t request GPS permission)
• No personal information beyond what you optionally submit via a feedback form

Cookies

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser — _ga and _ga_CLNSY15DQP — which distinguish one visitor from another so page views are not double-counted. They contain a randomly generated identifier, not your name or email. Ahrefs Web Analytics is cookieless.

You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, use a browser or extension that blocks analytics, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site requires cookies to work — every calculator runs entirely in your browser and functions normally with cookies blocked.

Advertising

The site does not currently display advertising. If we enable advertising in the future (e.g., Google AdSense or another ad network), third-party advertising vendors — including Google — may use cookies and identifiers to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this site or other sites.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or by visiting aboutads.info for the broader Network Advertising Initiative opt-out.

If we enable advertising, this page will be updated and the change date at the top will reflect that.

Third-party services

Two third parties receive a request from your browser when you load a page here:

• Google Analytics 4 (googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com) — page-view and interaction measurement. Google publishes its own privacy policy.
• Ahrefs Web Analytics (analytics.ahrefs.com) — cookieless page-view measurement. Ahrefs publishes its own privacy policy.

Nothing else is loaded from a third party. The site’s typeface is self-hosted rather than pulled from Google Fonts, and its Content-Security-Policy blocks requests to any origin not listed above.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we materially change what data we collect or how it’s used, we will update the “updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
